Programme of the PRS4PhD
In addition to the international exchange in the PhoenixD Colloquia on current research topics in optics and photonics, the monthly PRS seminar, especially for our doctoral students, offers a perfect place for interdisciplinary exchange. The annual Summer School by and for doctoral students and the PhoenixD retreat enable active involvement in the research community right from the start.
Additional excursions to the participating institutes and industry partners as well as exclusive training courses to optimise their own key skills expand the PRS4PhD programme. Publications and stays abroad are explicitly supported and promoted financially. After successfully completing their doctorate and regularly participating in our programme, our doctoral candidates receive an exclusive certificate.

PhD at the Leibniz Research School of Optics and Photonics
Would you like to do research in the field of optics and photonics? The Leibniz Research School of Optics and Photonics (LSO) offers you the perfect opportunity to do your doctorate in this field of research. In co-operation with the participating institutions of Leibniz University, LSO awards the academic degrees of Doctor of Science (Dr. rer. nat.) and Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.).
Job offers as Research Assistants
The first step towards a doctorate is the independent search for a professor to supervise the dissertation. The topic is determined in consultation with the supervisor. The doctorate can be financed through a position as a research assistant, through a doctoral scholarship or part-time. Open positions at PhoenixD and our co-operation partners can be found in our news portal.
