In this introduction, we provide an overview of the papers that were accepted for publication in the feature issue “Tunable and dynamic nanophotonics” of the Journal of the Optical Society of America B. The feature issue contains 10 articles on cutting-edge topics in the field of tunable nanophotonic systems.
